CNR Center for Neuroeconomic Research

Welcome to the Center for Neuroeconomic Research at the University of South Carolina. This website represents a diverse community of scholars who are interested in the emerging field of neuroeconomics.

What is neuroeconomics?
An innovative and interdisciplinary field that integrates research in cognitive psychology, economics, and consumer behavior with neuroscience investigations of brain activity. By using emerging fMRI and other brain science technologies within the framework of traditional behavioral experiments, the goal of neuroeconomic research is to better inform models of judgment and decision making through an understanding of neural mechanisms.

What is the CNR?
The CNR is a community of researchers from many fields who share a common interest in the application of new methods of neuroscience research in economic, behavioral, and decision sciences. The purpose of the CNR is to facilitate the understanding, use, and dissemination of neuroeconomic research with the academic community.
